Meet the Artist Behind Lexicon of Love
Atlanta-based artist, designer, music educator and mental health advocate Elexa Bancroft creates bold, witty and music-inspired art for people who like their creativity with a little personality.
What began with one-of-a-kind artwork created from recycled sheet music and book pages has grown into an ever-expanding collection of original art, prints, stickers, hats, apparel and gifts. From painting original canvases to illustrating, designing and cutting her own stickers and dreaming up the newest hat or apparel design, Elexa creates her work from her Atlanta, Georgia studio and shares the process—and plenty of life along the way—with more than 103,000 followers on TikTok.
Elexa is an Amber Grant winner for female entrepeners, a Florida State University 40 Under 40 Alumni Award recipient and a March of Dimes Atlanta Woman of Distinction honoree. Her work and story have been featured by Yahoo, The Wall Street Journal and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and her art has appeared at New York Comic Con, MEGACON Orlando and BroadwayCon. Her designs are also sold through major online retailers including Wayfair, icanvas and Target. Her public art can be found with her commission to do a public piano in Alpharetta, Georgia, in partnership with Play Me Again Pianos
At the heart of Elexa's work is a belief that art can be funny, beautiful, irreverent, empowering and deeply personal. Alongside her creative work, she uses her platform to advocate for mental health and women's empowerment awareness, share her own lived experiences and encourage honest conversations about rebuilding, creativity and finding humor through all of life's chapters.
